Overview

BizDev Exchange, Inc. (“BizDevEx,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates bizdevexchange.com (the “Service”), a marketplace where sales professionals exchange meetings and introductions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

Information we collect

Account information from LinkedIn. BizDevEx accounts are created by signing in with LinkedIn. When you do, LinkedIn shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us; we don't receive your LinkedIn password or your LinkedIn connections list.

Profile information you provide. Company name, title, company HQ and headcount, the departments you're connected with, your facilitation level, and any custom message you add to your profile.

Private Connect contacts. If you use Private Connect, the company, department, and notes you enter about a personal contact of yours. This is information you choose to submit about someone else in order to offer an introduction through them.

Activity on the Service. Exchange requests you send or receive, messages exchanged after a request is accepted, and feedback/ratings left about completed exchanges.

Payment information. If you upgrade to a paid plan, our payment processor Stripe collects your billing details directly. We never see or store your full card number — we retain only a Stripe customer/subscription reference so we know which plan your account is on.

Automatically collected information. Standard technical data like IP address, browser type, device information, and basic request logs, collected by our hosting provider for security and reliability. See our Cookie Policy for the cookies we use.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

operate and maintain the Service, including matching your search filters against other members' profiles; process exchange requests, messages, and feedback; process payments and manage subscriptions; send transactional emails (account, exchange, and feedback notifications) and, where relevant, service announcements; maintain the security and integrity of the Service and prevent abuse; and comply with legal obligations.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it to serve you third-party advertising.

How we share information

With other members. Your profile (name, avatar, company, title, HQ, headcount, department, facilitation level, custom message, and feedback score) is visible to other signed-in members through Search, unless you've hidden your profile from Search in your Profile settings. If you send or accept an exchange request, the other participant sees your profile and any messages you send them.

With service providers. We use a small number of vendors to run BizDevEx, each acting on our behalf under their own security and confidentiality obligations: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email delivery), and Vercel (application hosting). LinkedIn acts as our sign-in identity provider.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of BizDevEx, our members, or the public.

Business transfers. If BizDevEx is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we'll notify you if that happens.

We use a minimal set of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in — no advertising or analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account from the Profile page, we delete your profile and associated data, except where we're required to retain certain records (for example, billing records) for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.

Your choices

You can update most of your profile information, hide your profile from Search, toggle individual Private Connect contacts visible or hidden, and delete your account at any time from the Profile page. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to certain processing. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for working professionals and is not directed to, and should not be used by, anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — such as encryption in transit and access controls on our database — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

International users

BizDevEx is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
